When designing a website or print media, the background pattern can be the defining factor in your project’s presentation. When the internet first became popular, the background images were terrible looking. Seamless patterns have come a long way since the 90’s and look more professional today.
There are plenty of websites that offer seamless patterns for free use. We are naming just a few.
Transparent Textures is based off of Subtle Patterns. The backgrounds are simple monochromatic patterns. Many patterns to choose from; simply choose your color. Categories are also available.
Stripe Mania allows you to “create stripes in seconds”. Features allow you to choose your colors, set the width for stripe and spacing as well as choose your stripe orientation. Option for a gradient color too. Feel free to also check out the Stripe Generator.
Texture Maker has the ability to not just do text backgrounds, but also gradient, procedural and pattern textures. Great for people how don’t have design software ie. Photoshop. It is not the most user-friendly, but definitely has a lot of functionality.
Pattern Cooler is a pretty nice site if you are looking for something a bit more bold. Many patterns to choose from, customize the colors and the size of the pattern.
BG Patterns is pretty neat when it comes to backgrounds with images. I highly suggest you take a minute and read the help file. Great for any occasion that you need something fun! Reminds me of wrapping paper! The one thing I noticed, is there does not seem to be a way to change the order of the layers.
